Watch Bald Eagle eggs hatch

I know! The feed was getting broken up and suddenly one of them is out on the edge. I don’t think Papa knows what to do about it (pretty sure that’s Papa). Looks like the chick is going for some muskrat!

Edit: Multi- simulposts

Glad you caught that too, OpalCat!

This is painful watching the little guy trying to climb back into the center of the nest :frowning:

It made it!

Back home!

Hooray! Baby got back in! The parent tore up the nest a little to make it easier for him to climb over, then helped pull him the last little bit. Whew.

Eaglet #1 is a survivor.

Thanks again for this thread, bumbershoot. We have been fascinated with it since you posted it. Truly exciting stuff to watch!

Is that a hamster in the nest now? I thought they ate mostly fish. It’s a freaking morgue menagerie in there.

It’s fascinating, isn’t it?

Edit: Well yeah, you just said it was :smack:

I see another fish has been added to the buffet. And they were sampling the crow earlier as well.

The site was on NPR this evening.

Is anyone having trouble accessing the cam today? I have tried a couple times and all I get is a black screen with that endless little circle going round and round and round. :frowning:

I was watching a few minutes ago, now it’s gone again.

Edit: And now it’s back.

I keep having to reload it because it freezes up. A couple of times the live image has been replaced with a still image of some other kind of bird in flight. Kind of weird. I’m reloading it right now and it’s taking forever.

Yeah, mine keeps freezing up, too. I’ve got the black screen right now.

Sometimes I think it’s frozen but it’s not. They’re reaaaaaally good at holding very, very still. So much easier when it’s windy out!

It looks like egg 3 is hatching! There is a bulging area with cracks around it and they keep zooming in!

I saw that! Come on #3!

Papa is playing with the crow’s head.
