Yes - streaming services can typically put out a higher resolution. Your standard cable box is 720p. Streaming can get up to 4k.
The picture was pretty sharp but I felt like it was fewer frames per second than on my cable (Optimum), which is 1080…i? Pretty sure my cable is interlaced. I think streaming is 1080p on my $30 Roku box.
Then again there could be a judder setting I set on my cable box long ago and forgotten that just makes it look smoother.
EDIT: Actually, I think I set the judder on the TV, but it saves those settings for that input only. The Roku is plugged into a different HDMI port. I think that’s actually it. I may have to look into that.
