Water is older than the Sun--agreeing with Genesis Chapter One

I am new here. But the big news I am bring can be discovered in the first chapter of the Old Testament or Discover Magazine Sep. 2014. For years it baffled humanity how there was possibly water before there was a sun and now it is a scientific fact. Bible grows more accuarte all the time (paths of the sea and Mathew Maury anyone?).

Let me know when we have evidence of fruit trees growing on the earth before there was a sun.

Welcome to the SDMB!

You’ll find here that, particularly for declarations of fact as you’ve made, people will want to see your citations (cites).

You state that we can find your “news” in the September 2014 issue of Discover Magazine. Here’s the list of articles in that issue; I’m not seeing anything that would seem to be related to “water is older than the sun.” Would you care to provide a link to the specific article that details this?

Was it ever baffling that there was water before the sun? The sun is only 4.6 billion yrs old vs 13ish billion yrs for the universe.

The universe is ~13 billion years old, and the sun is only 5 billion. Of course there was water before the sun was formed.

Well, let’s be clear about one thing: There was no water on the earth before the sun because there was no earth before the sun.

Google “Earth’s water is older than the sun” and “Discover Magazine” and you will seee it.

Water’s just a couple of common atoms hooked together in a chemically stable way, right?

Yeah, not thinking that that needed to wait for the sun to exist before happening.

Earth’s sand is older than the sun. Earth’s gold is older than the sun. Everything in the solar system came from somewhere else before the sun ignited. So what?

This might be the article that has the OP so excited. It says, “A new model of the chemistry of the early solar system finds that up to half the water now on Earth was inherited from an abundant supply of interstellar ice as our sun formed. That means our solar system’s moisture wasn’t the result of local conditions in the proto-planetary disk, but rather a regular feature of planetary formation — raising hopes that life could indeed exist elsewhere in the universe.”

Not sure how that proves the validity of the First Testament.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Fontain_Maury for what I wrote about him and seas paths.

Notice the title to the article is “Earth’s water is older than the Sun”. We know how it was possible for water to be there before the sun. Lots of other OT confirmations exist scientifically as well but this may be the single most impressive.

Heck, pretty much all the matter on Earth existed before the sun did. That becomes obvious when one reads about how planets and stars are formed.

Nowhere in that process is the need for a god-character, though.

I don’t know about that. I think people living to be 900 years old is pretty impressive!

You know what else is impressive? We are stardust!

The Bible mentions humans! Evolution mentions humans, too! Therefore, the Bible is wrong and this is the single most impressive confirmation of Evolution available!

A universe cannot create itself out of literally nothing. There has to be a creator outside of science was we understand it.

How did the creator get created?

Sigh. Let’s do this again, then. Who created the Creator? And if the Creator can appear out of literally nothing, why can’t we just skip a step and have the universe do it?
