I mean it’s not like Israel Goverment’s are right wing and engage in sate sponsored violence …
Sooooooo, are you advocating FOR toppling gravestones in US Jewish cemeteries??? Because that would be wrong, right? RIGHT?
It’s not like you have any evidence to support such wild speculation that they might be behind these anti-semitic attacks.
I think you also grossly overestimated left-wing desire to make Trump look bad. That’s one thing that the president does a great job of on his own, there’s no need for anyone to lend a hand.
But if you live by the sword.
…you die by the non sequitur?
Gah, I was having this conversation about “Why now?” with my parents this morning, and my dad refused to believe that Bannon and Brietbart are antisemitic. :smack:
That doesn’t even need to be part of the explanation – what’s important is that white supremacists believe that Trump/Bannon and co are empowering and validating their positions (whether or not they are intending to), which is clear from the statements of prominent white supremacists like David Duke. If neo-Nazis suddenly believe that the country is behind them, then they’re going to do a lot more Nazi-ish stuff.
Probably because they aren’t.
One of the worst things that can happen to a partisan is when he starts believing his own propaganda.
With phones being randomly checked by Spicer to limit “leaks” how would we know if there is WH involvement or not?
Generating fear before you ask for a Huge jump in defense spending…?
I could see someone doing that.
As disgusting as the bomb threats and cemetery vandalism are, at least the U.S. has not experienced physical assaults on Jews to the extent seen in Europe.
And those sorts of incidents can’t be blamed on Trump.
Not to mention the open prison for the stateless that is Gaza. Which also can’t be blamed on Trump.
I’ve seen their list of “hate crimes” and it’s underwhelming.
I’m far from convinced there’s been any upsurge in hate crimes.
While true, it seems somewhat unrelated to the issue of an increase in anti-Semitic incidents in the US.
David Duke got ONLY 3% of the vote in one of our most conservative states.
Which proves the overwhelming majority of Louisianans who voted for Trump wanted nothing to do with Duke (who finished 7th out of 8 candidates).
Others might agree with you on this…
ONLY 50,000 voters in a small state that has one of the highest percentage of black people in the country… which extrapolates to millions of Americans, even if Louisianans are twice as white supremacist, on average (even taking into account all the black people!) as the rest of the country.
Millions of Americans with white supremacist views. And that’s supposed to make us feel good?!?
Maybe they are 50 times more or 200 times more supremacist. I live in Ca, and I know we have them here but they are a tiny minority.
Anything’s possible, but in my experience, there isn’t nearly as big a difference in the relative number of racists between northern and southern states as the stereotypes might suggest. And the vast majority don’t generally make their views known in public or to people who aren’t very close friends or family, in my experience, no matter where they live.
Whatever the exact numbers, there are very obviously more than enough to perpetrate violent, threatening, and damaging incidents around the country, especially if they feel their views are suddenly more empowered and validated (as they do, according to white supremacist leaders). Isn’t the simplest explanation that white supremacists who feel more empowered and validated are more likely to do white supremacist things?
Or, or, OR, the Trumpsters could be doing it so they can blame it on the lefties for doing it as a false flag in order to blame the alt-right! Has anyone thought of THAT? HUH?
