I am the opposite of you; most days I feel that we may have as many now as we’ve ever had during say the last 100 years. My feeling is that they are just less vocal. What I find surprising is that most of the events getting press around here are the various attacks against the dead; vandalism of cemeteries. I can’t recall this being done very much in the past. Your average skinhead whackjob, from what I have read, doesn’t object to dead Jews; it is the live people following that faith that they object to.
It doesn’t extrapolate to many people at all. Even in the Deep South, the likes of David Duke can’t make a respectable showing, let alone win.
But let’s pretend you’re right. Let’s say there are 3 million bigots. This is a country of over 300 million people. Those assholes don’t matter.
They matter if they’re threatening temples and mosques, vandalizing cemeteries, and shooting people like the incident in Kansas. 3 million open white supremacists/KKK supporters could hurt a lot of people, and certainly would be as significant (or more significant) of a threat to the country than any terrorism related to Islamic extremists.
But that isn’t happening. So it doesn’t appear to be much of a threat, no matter the exaggerations of the SPLC.

Shodan
What isn’t happening? There aren’t any grave topplers and bomb threats? The Kansas shooting didn’t happen?
Most? And what evidence is there to back that up? Or is this just people who don’t like Trump putting the blame on him regardless?
What isn’t happening is 3 million people doing that crap. Probably more like 30 doing it.
Whether or not Trump is to blame, it’s a fact that prominent white supremacists in the US, like David Duke and Richard Spencer, have repeatedly stated that they feel that their views are validated and they feel empowered by Trump’s rhetoric and success. With that in mind, it’s reasonable to conclude that it’s at least very possible that other American white supremacists might feel similarly.
Sticking with the “Jewish False-Flag Conspiracy” nonsense, I see.
Whew! I was worried there for a minute. But now that GaryT says that “probably” only 30 white supremacists are doing bad things, I can rest easy.
Don’t worry, everyone! GaryT says it’s probably only 30 bad guys! Nothing to worry about!
No, he’s saying that American Jews deserve it. Because of the Israeli government.
Trump has based his campaign and his presidency on appeals to ignorance, intolerance, and devisiveness. So it’s fair to give him some of the blame for the results. Sure, Trump may have personally targeted Muslims and Mexicans but other people are following his lead even if they’re targeting Jews and Blacks instead.
I disagree. Just because evil scumbags claim something doesn’t mean it’s true. If the New Black Panthers (to invent a name) had said they had felt empowered by Obama, would you have believed them? Didn’t Trump just denounce anti-Semitism?
You think David Duke, Richard Spencer, and other prominent white supremacists are lying about what they feel? I suppose that’s possible, but I think Occam’s Razor suggests that if a bunch of people are saying they feel a certain way, then they probably do actually feel that way.
And if the New Black Panthers, or any group of people, sad that they felt empowered by the election of Obama, then I’d be inclined to believe that they do, in fact, feel empowered by the election of Obama. Why wouldn’t I believe them?
There doesn’t seem to be any credible evidence of a significant uptick in anti-Semitic violence.
Selective perception is a powerful thing.

Is there really a statistically demonstrable “wave” of anti-Semitic violence? Or maybe a
“wave” of media reporting of anti-semitic violence? Or merely a completely random sawtooth in a phenomenon that does not follow a perfectly straight-line pattern?
I was only trying to explain Shodan’s quote so as to answer your question. Nevertheless, your mocking aside, surely you can see that 30 — or even 300 — active, out-there-doing-stuff “bad guys” is nowhere near the concern of 3 million of them.
NYPD disagrees. So does the ADL. So do various local Jewish groups, like in Milwaukee.
I think it’s something worth being concerned about.
I know, this is why I’m so relieved. I thought there might be a large number, based on the possible increase in incidents, and based on extrapolations from the support of a prominent white supremacist in a state election, but some guy on the internet says it’s only 30 (or 300), so there’s nothing to worry about. Thank goodness! Saved by a wild guess from a random internet person!
I was talking about credible evidence of a significant uptick in anti-Semitic violence. None of your cites shows that.
