Way to go, Biohazard!

Yup, it’s a guilty pleasure. But what a fabulous show!
You know what I’m talking about!

I don’t much like Biohazard. Don’t get me wrong; it’s a nice enough design - a winning design, obviously. But it’s really nothing more than a glorified wedge. And wedges are boring. Sure it has that cool flipping arm, but it hasn’t been effective recently. Most opponents are either reversible or have a self-righting mechanism. What I really want to see are cool spinning blades, robot parts flying all over and lubrication splattering the arena.

Hazard is my favorite. The total carnage he inflicts is awesome. Although only a middle-weight, I think he could take most of the bigger bots, even Toro.

Yay Biohazard! I was rooting for Tazbot all along, but oh well. Gotta go with Terminus here – Biohazard is kinda boring. All-time favourites, though, are Nightmare, Overkill, and (of course) Ziggo. Who doesn’t like Ziggo? I’m also rather fond of Mouser MechaCatBot, and the various mutations of Tantamoushi. Oh, and Toro, Matador, and the awesome li’l T-Minus. And Son of Whyachi.

Okay, this is turning into “How many BattleBots can RaCha’ar name?” But it’s true, I love all of these bots. And their drivers, too. Especially Christian Carlberg. 'cause he’s hot.

For what it’s worth, I agree that Biohazard is not as exciting as many of the other bots, for the reasons you say.

It was still a lot of fun to watch the “finals” today!

I love Biohazard (he won me five bucks in a bet that time he beat Vlad in the finals). But I was more happy to see Toro win the supers.
As far as Battlebots goes, I like to see robots improve themselves inbetween tournaments (upgrades like armor improvements and so forth). I think that for a real robot to be a winner, they should always be working on improvements. After all, new battlebots are always entering…

I love Ziggo! Little spinning robot that demolishes everything in its path. It’s everything you can hope for in a BattleBot.

Ziggo and Hazard. Definitely

And Hazard has no problem with going out and pounding his opponent into a pulp up until the final buzzer. Carnage!

What’s cool about Biohazard is 1) it’s an incredibly easy design, and yet so brutally effective, 2) the titanium skirt that can sit on the killsaws with no damage, and 3) it can take a viscious pounding and still zip around without a problem. And it’s won the competition several times without any change to the design. But, truth be told, Son of Whyatchi ripping its face off last year was quite the sight.

My favorite bot is Diesector. I love the maw and the rinky-dink hammers banging away.

The one that is the most fun to watch, though, is Ziggo. Especially when it goes off balance.

Since you mentioned Son of Whyatchi too – did you see the fight this season where Son of Whyatchi went off-balance right at the beginning of the fight? It was cool to watch, but man did I feel bad for 'em.!

I think Hazard’s performance was more impressive than either Biohazard’s or Ziggo’s. Hazard fought six matches this season, and every one of them was a knock-out - not a single decision went to the judges.

sigh. If only I could build the Battlebot of my dreams, I would show that Biohazard who’s boss. In fact, Biohazard’s low, all-around wedge design means that it would likely be one of the bots that would suffer most…

But perhaps I’ve said too much.

Am I the only one who thought the thread was originally talking about the band, Biohazard?

Yeah, I agree that it’s fun to see the carnage, with bot parts flying every which way, but as far as Biohazard’s design being boring, in the long run, that doesn’t matter.

Biohazard was built to win, and even if the other bot rights itself after being flipped, points are scored for flipping. Biohazard’s design is…well, not flawless, but it can sure pinch hit until a flawless design steps up to the plate.

I loved the fact that it was the only bot to flip Vlad the Impaler. Very impressive.

Besides, my Secret Santa, Politzania, send me a little Biohazard keychain.
