Ways to celebrate your favorite deceased celebrity birthday/anniversaries?

Today via facebook, I learned that today is Randy Rhoads’ 60th birthday, and tomorrow is the anniversary of both John Lennon and Dimebag Darryl getting shot. (I knew about these…only learned about Randy Rhoads birthday today)

I usually miss birthdays, but I try to pay respects on the anniversary of their deaths.

I do make set lists on the Ipod and listen to a good portion of their output, and then at night if I have any videos of them, I’ll watch them while toasting.

Tomorrow I’ll probably listen to The Beatles til lunch, then switch over to Pantera for the afternoon. (Along with switching backgrounds of my desktop/phone) I do get together with friends I jam Pantera with in remembrance, where we play Pantera, and have a few Black Tooth Grin shots. One of my friends also wants to go get Black Tooth Grin tattoos tomorrow. (we’ll see)

I also go a little overboard on Cliff Burton’s anniversary too.

Am I the only one does this? If not, what are your ceremonial tributes?

Well, now I feel bad because I don’t do anything. You reminded me about John Lennon, and I remember calling my brother when I heard, so I will probably email him and remind him. But otherwise, nothing.

I will often, on their birthdates, drink toasts to notable historical figures whom I admire.

This summer, some friends from the local Civil War roundtable and I gathered for dinner, a trivia quiz, and toasts to mark the bicentennial of the birth of Maj. Gen. George H. Thomas, “The Rock of Chickamauga” and a too-little-remembered hero of the war.

On Elvis’ birthday, I like to pop Qualudes while shooting holes in the wall and watching teenage girls wrestle in white cotton panties.

This Friday, 16 December, is Beethoven’s Birthday (1770–1827). Listen to all nine symphonies from beginning to end, and have some friends over for cake.

I presume the OP is looking for unusual ways to celebrate.
