Ways to wake up in the morning

Does anyone have any good traditions, stradegies or things you do in the morning that wake you up and get you ready for the day? I have a hard time getting up in the morning and usually lay around for the 1st couple of hours half conscious. Any idea’s would be awesome.
Thanks in return.

I use this trick when I am camping:

As I am going to sleep, I visualize a clock face with the hands pointing to the time I want to get up. Usually, I will wake up within ten minutes of the time I visualized.

Force yourself to sit up in bed and while doing this, whack your head on the wall.

It’d probably be funny if I didn’t end up doing that every morning.

I use this “trick” EVERY morning… four spoonfuls of Taster’s Choice [sup]tm[/sup], three spoonfuls of Coffee-Mate[sup]tm[/sup]. Add hot water, stir, drink.

On the receiving end of a blowjob is my favorite way to wake up. Nothing like a bit of wood chopping to get the old bones a-movin’ and a-shakin’ in the grips of the morning sun.

True 'dat, Horseflesh. Best hangover cure ever.

My have-to-get-up morning routine is fairly simple. My clock radio goes off, then a minute or two later, the TV comes on. I turn off the radio and watch the TV till the local weather comes on (about 10 minutes later) then I get out of bed and into the shower.

It’s such a routine now, I go thru the moves automatically.

I find the best way to wake up in the morning is to wait until after noon.

I find that getting out of bed immediately the alarm goes off and cheerfully going to get washed / dressed at once works. My fiancee hates me as she needs a good hour dozing before she can face leaving the duvet.

Yeah sex is the best way but if you don’t have a willing partner…I roll out of bed half asleep and put on the espresso. I have to have my double shot (yess that is TWO cups) of espresso every morning. Not many people can sleep through that.

I find that having the tv kick on along with the coffee pot, so that the coffee is ready when my alarm goes off (and most days I don’t even set it anymore - the coffee pot and television are enough to wake me up. Both are in the other room).

Knowing fresh coffee is ready makes a big difference in my ability to face the world.

News, vitamins, and a cigarette while the tub is filling. I sit back and watch the cats frolick about and catch up on the world’s events.

How much sleep are you getting? I have found that the best way to wake up in the morning is to get the right amount of sleep to begin with.

I watch Headline News every morning… Alarm chimes - I sit up and turn on light - Hubby turns on TV. In about 5 minutes I can focus on the screen.

This morning, as the TV comes on, they are doing a feature about people being sleep deprived. When it ends, they cut back to the Anchor-girl, head back and snoring, and the Weather-guy, sprawled all over the desk drooling. It was so funny, it woke me up!

I start the day with a cup of tea. Most tea contains a little less caffeine than coffee, and it also containes theobromines, which slow your body’s uptake of the caffeine, so you get a more gradual, longer-lasting buzz instead of the swift kick a cup o’ joe provides.

I also consume some complex carbs. Usually it’s a granola bar or a PB&J on whole grain bread or a piece of fruit that I eat in the car or in my 8:00 class (ugh!). When I have a little more time, I like some oatmeal or a bowl of raisin bran, Cheerios, Grape Nuts, or that kind of thing.

I used to be a non-breakfast-eater, and it’s amazing how much less I hate mornings now.

Avoid the Cap’n Crunch or anything that will just give you a sugar rush. It’ll get you out the door, but peter out and leave you zombified well before lunch. Your body takes longer to munch through complex carbohydrates, so you stay on more of an even keel, energy-wise.

When your first class, three days of five, is at noon, you don’t have to worry about this.

The other two days when I wake up at 6:00? Well, I just think about how tommorow, I get to sleep in.
