We caved and bought a Dyson.

After our second vacuum in three years crashed and burned, we headed to Bed Bath and Beyond with a 20% off coupon today, and came home the proud owners of a DC17 Animal.

Now I know what everyone raves about. My living room carpet looks awesome.

My husband and I had a hard time forking over the cash for it, but I think this is one item where we WON’T have buyer’s remorse.

Ah, I thought you’d enclosed the Sun in a gigantic sphere to capture its entire energy output.

The vacumn is probably more practical though.

Malodorous, as someone who was once in a progressive rock band called “Dyson Sphere” I fess up to getting the reference…

I think I have the same Dyson as you. It also was an “Animal” but I seem to recall it being a DC14.

In any case, it is AWESOME. I was nervous when I first used it that it would not stack up to the commercials and I would have wasted $500. But it held its own. I have a cat that sheds so much hair, people who have never seen her think she is going through chemo or something. This vacuum renders my apartment cat hair-less in minutes.

My mother bought a Dyson a month ago, and I keep stealing it. It works so much better than my cheapo $40 vacuum, it’s amazing. I had a long hair dog for a few weeks, and I didn’t realize how much it shedded until I went over my apartment with the Dyson.

Damn the things are expensive, but they are worth every penny!

Hey, they could have ‘cheaped out’ and just gotten the ‘ring’ version.

I gotta get one of those. I just vacuumed a bedroom and then used the Bissell steam cleaner on it. I’ll bet the Bissell sucked up a half pound of cat hair that the vacuum missed.

It’s weird, because the carpet is a light sand color, and you couldn’t see the cat hair even before vacuuming. But the Bissell rolled up huge wads of black cat hair. I wonder if the hair was under the carpet, between the carpet and the pad.

Bizarre.
