Oh! What a sad and sudden passing! So, so sorry to hear it. 
I don’t really know anyone here, but nonetheless, I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences to this gentleman’s friends and family, and to everyone on the board that he touched.

I’m so sad to hear about Poopah’s passing, like many people I knew him from his posts, not from the ‘real world’ , although this thread amongst others has shown that this is just as much a part of the ‘real world’ as anything…so long and Godspeed.
Just want to add my thoughts & prayers to the family and friends of Scott.

I’m sad I only had the pleasure to meet him once. But, at least I had the once. Scotti, I’m so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you, as well as with his family.

Oh Scotti, I’m so sorry to hear this. I didn’t have a personal relationship with Scott, but I certainly will miss his presence here. My heart goes out to all of you who are dealing with a personal loss here.

Like many others here, I knew him only in passing, from his posts, but I’ll miss him just the same.

Erm, it would appear that everyone is misspelling his name. His sticky thread above shows him to be Poohpah.
I didn’t know him, or even read many of his threads, still, it is sad. A sober reminder that there are real people here. I hope everyone who does know him will give him a fitting goodbye.

This is a shock…and his final post had me thinking all weekend about how much I am thankful for the SDMB.
Without being morbid, may I inquire to the facts about his death?

Sorry…should have read all the posts. Just went back and read the news report previously listed.
In answer to his final post…he was a “stranger” who was part of this cyberspace family. No, I never met him…but his words will live on and it is sobering to think any one of us will someday make our final post. What a profound farewell.
I feel like I’ve been punched in the stomach.
It makes me want to scream WHY!?! at the top of my lungs.
I don’t know what to say. My sincere condolences to poopah’s family and to Scotticher.
I think I need to read that book called When Bad Things Happen to Good People - too many terrible things have been happening to wonderful people around me.
Another Doper who read more of poopah than interacted with him. I’m in mild shock, and my warmest thoughts go out both to his family and those here who were his friends.
