Yep. It’s that time again. The annual “what are you thankful for” thread.
And instead of the usual prattling, I’d just like to say thanks to all of you who have entertained and enlightened me here at SDMB. There are so many caring people out there. I wonder what life would’ve been like these past few years without this place? So many Dopers have met, fallen in love and gotten hitched here. So many friendships established. So many helping hands. So much encouragement. So many cathartic rants.
I’m thankful that this place exists and that I’ve been at least a small part of this community. And in particular Ayesha

ohh, jeez, I’m forgetting so many.
Falcon, MIA, but not forgotten.
And, of course, the crush of my life, Scotticher
You people and so many others have been a blessing. I wish you all the happiest of Thanksgivings.
Anyone else care to post their thanks for these boards?
I’ll just say thanks for all the laughs, thanks for the interesting information, thanks for the stimulating conversations, thanks for the fun I’ve had meeting people off the boards, and most of all thanks for giving me the means to meet someone who’s very special to me. The boards have been very good to me.
You have no idea how thankful I am for this place:
For a place to vent, whether justified or not, and to gain other perpsectives to put my pain in it’s just place. . .
For a place to ask, may it be forgiving and encouraging, that I may learn and spread knowledge, even to those afraid to query. . .
For a place to grow, in that I can meet friends, and be with them at any time and any day, wherever the hell on the globe I may be. . .
For a place of comfort, through the many that simply sent e-mailed messages, that I felt warm in the coldest of moments. . .
I raise a toast.
I thank you Cecil, for I am one of the many of grateful among the Teeming Millions.
I’m very thankful for this place, and the people I know through it. What would I do without you all?
I’m thankful for my health. I’m thankful for my wife, who puts up with a lot in living with me, and who loves me without reservation anyway. I’m thankful for a job that pays well and isn’t too stressful. I’m thankful for friends. I’m thankful for the sunlight through the window. I’m thankful for the barbecue stand on the way home from work that makes those wonderful, enormous pulled-pork BBQ sandwiches. For living in a country where freedom of speech and freedom of religion are pretty much taken for granted. For our cats, who are always ready to curl up in our laps, and provide us with hours of entertainment. For the beauty of the natural world. For a God who keeps on loving me, whether or not I’m paying much attention.
I’m thankful for my mom. I am so thankful for my mom. And my dad, brothers, sister, nephews, etc.
I’m thankful for the baby I will soon be able to hold in my arms, and the wonderful man in my life.
I am not thankful for my car, which broke down yet again this week, only 2 weeks, four days since the last time I had it fixed. But I am thankful for the people who haul me around in my car’s absence.
And I am thankful for poopah chalupa, and countless others here, without whom I might truly be insane.
