We need a new way for large groups to convene

I was struck by this picture of the Group of 20 summit.

Very egalitarian, placing 20 nations at a round table, plus apparently translators or aides to total over 50 seats. But with a table that large, nobody can see anybody else’s face when they are speaking, not even the people to the sides.

So we should build these meeting rooms with jumbotrons that show the speaker huge and all the others in a ring around him. And to facilitate that, the chairs should be in a tight grid formation all facing the screen and cameras. Just like at the Oscars or Emmys

Or, perhaps everyone could just phone it in with teleconference equipment and not meet in person at all. Then there’d be no complaints from the public about diplomats hogging all the parking meters with their immunity plates.
