However, a quick update.
We got the paperwork returned to us today and we are still not legally whatever’d yet!!
Seems the notary only stamped the paper ONCE, and he needed to stamp the paper twice (which is kind of silly, as he signed below both of our signatures). At any rate, some anal retentive bureaucrat has determined that because of this grievous error, our paperwork is not in order. Now I have to take the paperwork back to the notary, get him to stamp it once more, and then re-send the paper to the Sec. of State.
Thus, we are still living in sin.
However, by the end of today, paperwork will be going through the mail and back to the Sec. of State.
My guess is we should be legally whatever’d by the end of next week - so put those champagne glasses down, go join the others in the conga line going up and down The Strip, and by the time ya’ll get back, we’ll be ready to cut the cake.
On the one hand, this is bad news, because until it’s official, God will kill a kitten every time you guys do the nasty. OTOH, when it is official, I’ll have another excuse to break out the Wild Turkey! 
Gah! Bureaucrats! I hate them! (Except for every two weeks when the federal gov’t deposits a pay check in our bank account; then I like them!)
I agree. Plus, calling “domestic partnerships” marriage pisses off all the anti-SSM people. It’s win-win.
