Are there any packages/services available for wholesale businesses that provide the ability to display products, submit wholesale orders, and show lists of stockists. In addition I need backend with an easy way to add new products and adjust descriptions and pricing.
We have home-grown software, but it’s just too hard to maintain and we should be focusing on our core competencies rather than developing software.

There is tons of software out there for wholesale/distribution.
On the low end, I believe QuickBooks has an enterprise product. There are open source ERP packages that look ok for the low end also.
If you are looking to spend money, Microsoft has bought 3 or 4 ERP companies in the last few years (Great Plains, Axapta, others) and there is always Oracle Applications and SAP.
You mean like an online store? (Not exactly, but essentially.) Sure… there’s tons. Hell, you could even open one on Ebay. It’d do everything you ask.
Hereis our current site. It’s for both retail customers (i.e., customer of our customers) and for our wholsale customers. It’s mostly informational, showing our product line. The “resources” link allows wholesale customers to download an order from, but we’d also like to have a secured shopping cart geared towards wholesale.
We use Quickbooks, but also have a separate database for the website. It’d be nice to tie these together. A daily or hourly sync would be fine, we don’t need to run live off of Quickbook.
Are you looking for b2b software? In other words they have an account, you invoice them, etc.?
We need two interfaces. One is informational and allows end-users and wholesale customers to look at the products, the other is B2B with an invoice or CC interface for wholesale customers placing orders. It’d be nice to just add a new product once and have it appear in both places.
