So maybe the solution is simply to ramp up the level of ambient sound/crowd noise, so an isolated shutter click will not stand out. Let’s see if the Chicago-area crowd at Olympia Fields can improve this year upon last year’s NY crowds!
I know we have discussed it before, but I do not understand why it is presumed that silence is required in golf.
I know it wasn’t a “real” tournament, but in defense of Tiger, the man is ultra-competitive and expects to win everytime he steps onto the golf course. That includes exhibition matches. This is why he’s the best golfer in the world right now.
I used to think his demeanor on the course was both cocky and cold until I realized this was his job. He’s just really focussed on winning and that’s why he comes off the way he does. As far as his concentration goes, I think he concentrates as good as any player in the game, but when a camera goes off in the middle of your backswing it tends to shake even the most seasoned golfers. As far as the money is concerned. I know he’s loaded and has everything material anyone could ever want in life, but he earned all of that through years of practice and hard work. The players were required to donate 20% of their winnings to charity, but Tiger donated all of his $125,000 to the Tiger Woods Foundation. That doesn’t sound like he’s lining his pockets to me.
With regards to the caddies actions, I didn’t know he threw the guy’s camera in the lake. If he did indeed do that, it’s inexcusable.
