Weather service (USA) still does the forecast via the phone

I figured they got rid of that a while back with so many websites now having forecasts.

Are you talking about the scratchy NWS forecasts that sound like they are coming from 1952?

Just one more thrill the current generation will probably never experience. Like switching to the Weather Channel and waiting for them to cycle back to your local weather.

There’s something awesome in being able to bring up the weather radar and check out the location of thunderstorms in real time before going sailing or biking.

Our local office used to give the level of a local river at the end of the recorded forecast since we have a good number of local kayakers.

This was one of the coolest things when I was making my first smartphone, back around 2004. I remember watching a current radar loop of a storm coming through, on this little portable device. It very much seemed like the future.
