Web Browser Question

For some strange reason, when I have used my Microsoft Internet Explorer the font on most web sites I surf has been reduced and changed. This just happened out of the blue on Sunday.

What can I do to change the font of my browser back to normal? And what are some of the reasons why this could happen?

FYI – I use WIndows XP

Thanks

Look at the “View” / “Text Size” option on your menuitem. Change the font size to a larger one. You or someone else may have accidentally changed it.

Tragically, I have tried the “change text size” option. It does not work.

FOr some bizarre reason not only is the text size reduced, but the font type has changed – the font is now a '10 ariel as opposed to say, '12 Times New Roman. . . .

This is so weird. . . I’m scared. . . (I SEE DEAD PEOPLE!)

I dont know if this will real work but you could try this.

Go to Tools>Internet Options>Fonts tab(just above the OK button)

Try to change the font back to Times New Roman.

Hope this helps.

Pertaining to the size of the text, does your mouse have a scroll wheel? Holding down the Ctrl key and using the scroll wheel could’ve been the reason for the change in size.

Do you have a scroll wheel on your mouse? If you, maybe you accidentally held down the Ctrl key while using it. That might account for the change in the text size.

My IE font size changes at random too. I just use the “View/Textsize” option to change it back. I haven’t had the font “type” change on my though (yet). Although, the scrollbar on my IE seemed to change it’s mind on how far it wants to scroll today. I started a different thread on that subject.

It seems to be an IE CSS issue sometimes:

“Last week I asked readers to help me work out why some people found the fonts on this site too small to read. In some, if not all, of the cases where this happened, Internet Explorer was set with the Text Size (under the View menu) set to Small. This reduced the text to an unreadable level when the CSS specified sizes in ems, but only reduced it slightly when specified as percentages.”
