I was curious. If you are in a country other than the states do you have to enter something other than .com to visit American sites. Like can it be http://www.cuantixpc.com or does it have to be something like http://www.cuantixpc.state.va.us
.com isn’t specific to the US, it just signifies (in theory at least) a commercial organisation. Plus, domain names are uniquely assigned, so there’s no need to alter them for different users in different locations.
If it’s http://www.mywebpage.com here, it’s the same anywhere on the web.
