I want to access sites as if I was in the USA. My old provider (AOL) gave my location as Alexandra, VA, but my new provider shows a UK location.
Can I use some sort of proxy to change my location as seen by other websites?

Yes, you can. Finding proxies is really easy with Google.
Help me please then. I googled proxies but could not find a site that i could understand how to set a proxy up.
The easiest way by far is to use a web-based proxy. Based on a few seconds’ work, this one seems sufficient for your needs. The IP address it gives you is in Chicago, according to this site. To use the proxy, simply enter the URL of the site you want to visit in the bar on the page and press enter. You might have to uncheck the “Remove all scripts” and “Hide referrer information” boxes if the site does not work for you.
As a moderator on a board who gets trolled quite often, I’d like to ask “what is your motivation?” *
*and, I’m not looking at you. I just was asking a quite serious question.
really sad explanation.
Just returned from the US.
I am far left in US politics.
I find US Talk radio entertaining!
I used to be able to stream it
Sites are now stopping access to non US addresses
I need my Rush ‘rush’!
Pjen: OK, I don’t think my solution will work for you then. This page should give you enough hints to do the job.
