Webcam security issues

I use Easy Free Webcam (the paid version). Today, I was working on offline tasks and noticed Zone Alarm showing Internet traffic. I checked and saw that it was associated with my webcam and since no one was viewing my webcam at the time, I chaged the access in ZA to “Ask” and it immediately reported that a domain in Austrailia was trying to access my cam on port 50402. The cam is not on a common port and all scans at Shield’s Up report me as stealth. After a few minutes, I changed the access back to allowed and traffic started up again so I went through the same routine and this time the request came for port 50458. I assume that someone is port scanning me. I don’t think the webcam or WinXP is allowing connections because the traffic comes in bursts as the port number changes. I’ve never noticed this behavior before and so I am a bit concerned. The access page for the cam is a URL that I only give to friends and family and there are no links to it from any other web pages. I’d like to continue using the cam but not if it can be used as a gateway through my firewall. Am I safe? Any ideas?

It’s a virus / worm
