I like the first one better. It seems to load smoother (but that may have been my computer playing up).
The first one loaded better for me too.
But I vote for it for the more dramatic black background and transitions.
I like the first one better. The movement of the pointer is very cool.
The sound effects on #2 are somewhat annoying.

I like the first one. Menus were easier to follow. The second one’s information was sometimes difficult to read on the transparent background.

First, definitely. Graphics warmer and more intriguing,
color more attractive and makes it eaiser to read, much better menu setup, and-hey- the pointer IS cool!

I’m going to “buck the system” (and possibly “fight the power”) by saying that I like the second better than the first…actually, a LOT better.

On another board I post to you would be in the majority. Page 1 actually has more of the content that will finally be used for a new product launch. I was kind of hoping to find out which elements people preferred from each and maybe come up with a hybrid. Which menus etc.
Can anyone recommend a better sound than the one that is currently on the first page? Something along the lines of a stormtrooper wearing sneakers coming out of a turbolift on the bridge of the enterprise to be met by dude with lightsaber sort of swoosh is the kinda thing I’m looking for.

That woman on the first page creeps me out…ESPECIALLY when she blinks. But even barring the blinking, I don’t like her. She seems out of place. There’s no reason for her to be there…she’s just kind of “there”. The woman on the second page, however, fits in very well. Less obtrusive, and she actually fits in with the rest of the page. Plus, she’s more “active”.
I like the colors/aesthetics of the second page better. The city skyline outside the window is a nice touch - it gives the page a little more of an “open” feel. The first page feels “claustrophobic” to me…I feel like I’m in a basement.
I like the menu structure of the first page better than the second page, though. The menu-on-top-of-menu that the second page does seems kind of choppy.
This is all just my $0.02, of course.
