I’m redesigning the layout of my homepage, and have myself torn between two very similar splash pages.
Now, my main intent was to make it brighter than the blahness of black I have currently, and athough I really like the clouds and colours of the first one, it’s pretty much exactly what I didn’t want. Then, with the second one, I feel like I’ve somewhat achieved my goal, but I also feel like it’s overflowing with girliness.
So I ask the TM’s, what’s your opinion?
I’m voting for the first choice though I lack all expertise in these matters. I just plain liked it better.
I like #2–I don’t think it’s too girly, it’s kinda cool. The clouds are OK, but the other design gives a more personal feel.
I can’t get past your index pages…is that because there’s really nothing there or because I’m extraordinarily tired?
I think they’re both very nice. Simple and clean…I think I favor the second one over the first, but I don’t have the words to say why.
Okay, I changed the background colour of the first one so we now have a third page which looks like this.
And for all you curious clickers, there’s nothing behing the index page as of yet.
I happen to like either number 1 or number 3, but probably number 3 more since it’s lighter. Like elbows, though, I couldn’t tell you why. Seems… calmer, maybe?
Hmmmmm. mega, I liked the first clouds one better, colorwise. What about a combination of the two? Where you have all of the basically blank beige (at least that’s how it looks to me) between your name and the pic (of you?), you could put the clouds. Just an idea. I like them both, neither one better than the other. Hope this helps.
Or wait! I’ve got it - your eye, floating in the clouds! It’s brilliant!
Or maybe I should just go to bed.
Doggone it. My webpages are so lame in comparison to this kind of arty approach.

Definately the first one Mega, the combination is much better.
Though don’t take my word for it, I’m slightly colour blind anyways.

Put on the voting for # 2 list. I just like it better.
Of course, I wake up leaning towards the clouds on whiteishness, and this morning it has 5 votes where the eye has 7.

I liked #1 best, but they are all great and any of them would be good to use. Good job!
I’d go for, inorder, 2, 1, 3. 3’s background is too bland. 1 or 2 would be a good choice.
