I think #2 is really cool looking, makes it a little more personal I think.
#2 has that really attractive eye. I like that one. Like the others say, it looks more personal. I would pick that one if it is to be a personal HP if it is a more work related HP I would pick #1.
I think a combp of #1 and #2 (I feel like I’m ordering combos a t Wendy’s) would be the best, but of the three, I like # 1 the best.
If you made the background of #2 darker, it would look cool, too.
As it is, they all look pretty nice.
Definitely #2, though I would grey out and lighten the background color and punch up the colors of the graphic in the middle. The eye part is way cool.

My vote is for the first one. The darker background makes the figure stand out more than the light background.
I think the eye in number two, although nicely done, looks like it should be followed by ads for cosmetics or health care.

Okay, no. When I came home today there was supposed to be a voting ratio of at least 1:5. I didn’t really care which had the one and which had the five, just that there was a big enough difference for me to make a decision.

Actually, I liked the idea of using #2’s design but with the clouds from #1 in all that white space. Or is that too busy?
Anyway, I designed a crappy, overdone main page for my new site (since my old host vanished from the net) and have managed to get it down to a little better-organized design–still busy, tho’. Of course, that’s my “main page”; the front page, which I call my “gate page” is pretty subdued right now.

If I may, foolsguinea: That’s a realy cool image for your splash page, but you should probably lose that background on the first page behind it. It’s a real headache-inducer.
