Websites that have gone down the drain

I have to ask-were any of you SA posters around when SAAN came and did their Huggy Warz?

And do any of you know Fiwer?

I’d have to go with Satire Wire. The Bush Log was damn funny-then it ended. Booo!!!

www.x-entertainment.com was a great site with sarcastic/humorous reviews of '80s toys and such, but now it has some many ads that my old slow computer can’t handle it. :frowning:

www.wizardworld.com, used to have a message board, and price guide and actual articles on comics. It’s newest incarnation, wizarduniverse.com is a huge ad for paraphanelia. It blows mightily

www.sportstalk.com and its subsidiary www.footballtalk.com were the shiznit of the alternative NFL news scene three years ago. They had a great Breaking Rumors section updated daily and featured all manner of editorials – from the profound to the hilarious – several times weekly.

I really don’t know what happened to that site. Many of their writers got picked up by ESPN.com and other outlets. Another one of footballtalks.com’s Mike Florio – started his own horrendous rumors site at www.profootballtalk.com . It is a shadow of what footballtalks.com used to run. I think Florio makes up 3/4 of his glurge.

Old Man Murray and Acts of Gord are cool but never ever ever get updated.

And it’s in my sig but SA is only good for the photoshops and Cliff Yablonski anymore.

I can’t link to it, but stileproject has sunk so far, it is now burrowing. I don’t even bother to visit it anymore.

Daily Radar never sucked, just died. Was good for all kindsa fun game news.

I agree. Their science projects used to be the best! Now it’s way too ad-driven. Another formerly great website that updates too infrequently is www.ModernHumorist.com.

Second on dailyradar.com. It is missed.

Another wistful vote for Mirsky’s Worst of the Web.

(wish those suckers had been archived, along with the sites to which he linked)

I miss “You Can’t Do That On Star Trek.” That site was always good for a laugh.

The Flummery Digest isn’t updated nearly as often as it used to be. Now it only gets updated once every several months.
