Wedding Anniversary Suggestions

Rico and I will be celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary September 8th. We’ve been discussing what to do the weekend prior (9/8 is on a Monday this year).

He would like to spend 2 nights at a B and B in Cambria which sounds wonderful to me, but I’m CHEAP and those prices they want there are not!

So my fellow dopers, I come to you for suggestions.
The only criteria:
[ul]
[li]somewhere within a 4 hr drive of Los Angeles [/li][li]under $300 lodging for the 2 nights[/li][/ul]

Parte Dos

I looked it up and the 2nd year of marriage is cotton . I gave Rico clothes for Christmas and his birthday. I’d be afraid for my life if I give him clothes for our anniversary too. Ok, not really afraid. He’d never lay a hand on me, but I still have no ideas what to get him. I’m really not at all imaginative.

All suggestions in this area are welcomed as well… perhaps you can give Rico some suggestions too

Ooh! Cotton gifts! Some suggestions:

–Q-tips
–Cottonelle
–tampons

Cotton is on the “traditional” list; the “modern” list has china for Year 2. Does that help?

Other cotton ideas:
Fancy sheets for the bed
Fancy napkins/placemats/tablecloth used in a candlelit dinner for two

I’m evil! Very EVIL I tell ya!

I love it! I’d really like to see what a 6’6" man would try to do with a tampon!

Drive to Las Vegas, forego the usual casinos for the Hyatt near Lake Mead. The hotel is really romantic. I forget the movie that featured the hotel but it was either a Meg Ryan flick or a maybe it’s My Best Friend’s wedding with Julia Roberts. No, maybe it was America’s Sweethearts… anyways, it’s a great hotel

Then you can go hiking at Red Rock Canyon or the Valley of Fire, both really spectacular, boating at Lake Mead, visit Hoover Dam. Then you can take in a show in the evening at the 'Sinos. Believe me, it will be great!

The hotel has a couple of nice pools. Great views. Wonderful environment. Couples massage. And you may be able to stay there for under $300 for 2 days.

Good luck and happy Anniversary.

Oh yeah! I love it!!!

New China. Hadn’t noticed that. Shoulda read further. :smack:

Can you hear the gears starting to work in my brain? LOL

GilbertZ Thank you very much! And they said it would never last!

That sounds wonderful! I have been thinking Vegas. We got married there.

When I checked on it, we could revisit the scene of the crime so to speak and get a Suite at the Stratosphere (where we honeymoon nighted) for less then a B&B in Cambria

But this other place sounds great. I’ll add it to the list of possiblities.

Kathy

That’s cool too.

I’m a big fan of Revolving Restaurants and the best I’ve ever seen is the stratosphere.

China? That’s it! China! Take him to China! Or Chinatown.

New cotton undies or new cotton sheets.
Ok You’re right neither of these sound like things a guy would appreciate (unless of course you’re wearing the undies or between the sheets).

Anyway congrats on the anniversary, and do let us know what you decide and if you had a good time.

How about this?

Or make him a quilt?

Hmmmm…

Cotton Hammock for two…

Warm fall LA evenings.

Works for me.

Chinatown sounds doable and fun.

Keep 'um coming please
