Wedding Rings

How often do you wear your wedding ring?

Hubby and I both wear them 24/7.

I wear mine rarely. I have congestive heart failure, and my hands, fingers, legs, and feet swell and deflate at random. This means that I never really know if the ring is going to be too tight or too loose. I’ll probably put the ring back on a gold chain, and wear it that way. I’ve nearly lost the band a few times. We’ve been married for 34 years now, and it’s still the same band. I’d hate to lose it now.

I’ve yet to take it off since it was put on - mind you, that was only 3 and a half years ago.

I work with machinery all day - jewelry on the hands and arms is forbidden for safety reasons. Some of the chemicals I use probably wouldn’t be good for one, either.

Hardly ever. The job I work in requires no jewellery below the elbow and I leave my rings off all the time. I do try to remember to put them on if I’m going out and want to look a bit dressed up and sparkly but I do find that they annoy me after a short while.

Let’s see, I never wear my wedding rings to the gym. Found out the hard way that lifting weights while wearing a ring can cause a painful pinch! Also, the band could get scratched up or the diamond setting bent or broken.

Actually, my rings have been too tight lately. I have been wearing a fake wedding ring when I’m out and about just so that my hand doesn’t feel naked! My husband never wears his wedding band. He would ruin it in his line of work, and he doesn’t care for rings. Doesn’t bother me a bit that he doesn’t wear one. We’ve been married 32 years, btw.

I’m not currently married. When my girlfriend and I do get married, I’ll wear mine all the time, unless I’m working with chemicals or machinery that might damage it. That is if she wants to do the whole ring thing. It doesn’t matter to me one way or another.

The Druidess and I wear our rings 24/7.

I haven’t removed mine since the ceremony 16.5 years ago. However, I’m not one of those “I’ll die before I’ll remove my wedding ring – it’s sacred!” people: I just leave it there. If I had to go to the hospital and the doctor said “We’ll have to take off your ring,” I’d take it off. Otherwise, as I have no reason to remove it, I leave it on. My husband takes his off when he’s soldering and doing crap like that; otherwise, he leaves his on too.

Married 40 years - I wear it once or twice a year. I love mybengagementvring, but it sticks out a bit and gets caught on things, so I wear that even less. No problems with it - but I just don’t think of it.

Anytime I’m dealing with water I take it off beforehand. This includes daily showers, swimming, and washing dishes (no dishwasher in China). Otherwise it’s on all the time.

I wear mine almost always. I take it off on some gym days because of the exercises I do (such as deadlifts).

I wear it sometimes. My fingers sometimes swell up due to allergies, so I’m leery about leaving it on all the time.

Never. The only ring I wear is one on my right hand past down through the generations. My wedding and engagement ring has been in my safe for years and will go to my daughter. She can wear it if she likes it or sell it for something else. I doubt it will have any sentimental meaning for her since I don’t wear it.

My husband never takes off his wedding band; even during a separation a few years back.

True. For this reason I have taken my ring off a few times and put it in the pocket of my gym shorts, but I get nervous that I’ll forget it’s in there and toss my shorts in the locker and the ring will go flying.

Other than those few times, I’ve had mine on pretty much non-stop since I got married about 13.5 years ago. My wife just takes hers off to clean it and her engagement ring.

I take mine off for sleep, and if I’m going to do anything wet or messy, but I wear it daily.

Seldom. I started with good intentions but it just never felt comfortable and I never got used to it even after a couple months. Now I mainly wear it for dressed up occasions or sometimes on a whim but not regularly. I don’t wear any other jewelry/watches either for that matter.

I voted always but I do take it off for messy things like making hamburgers or kneading bread. I lost it once several years ago and during the time it was missing I completely destroyed the replacement ring in a fall. After the swelling went down and the stitches were out I found my ring again

It’s not valuable in financial terms but I’m still glad it was the tempoary ring that was destroyed.

I said “Almost always.” I take it off when I shower, or if I’m working on something it might get snagged on. I like my fingers.
