Why do Weebles wobble but not fall down? Are they weighted in some way? Would they fall in a vacuum?
No, they won’t.
Cite (About three quarters down.)
If a Weeble is placed (set down) on its side will it stand up?
I wish I actually had a Weeble.
Hmm… I don’t think I made this clear enough:
The atmosphere or non-atmosphere around the Weeble is of no significance.
Ok, at least as long as it’s reasonably yielding.
Depends on the way the weight is distributed on the inside.
There are some on sale on ebay, starting at about $2.
Imagine a basketball where one hemisphere weighs more than the other. Set it down, and since it’s round it’ll roll to put that half at the bottom. A weeble is exactly that (just more egg shaped to make it look vaguely like a person). As long as you’ve got gravity it’ll orient itself with the heavy side down.
They work the same way as an inflatible punching bag, did you ever have one of those? Hmm, I always thought the clown ones were the most disturbing, but that “Sister Discipline Nun” probably has that beat…
The vacuumage don’t enter into it.
No gravity and a weeble could fall down (is down a correct word, if there is no gravity?)
You do realize that a vacuum does not magically cancel gravity, right?
There is no relationship between gravity and atmospheric pressure( or vacuum)
The stronger the gravity is, the bigger the atmospheric pressure.
I have never had a weeble that did not return to its upright position. However, I have never experimented with them off-planet.
So, now we learn that Weebles have their own gravity generators, which only turn on when there’s no gravity.
Uh, does anybody know what happened to the brownies I left cooling on the kitchen table?
I felt a sort of vacuum in the pit of my stomach, and I was afraid of falling down, and I was looking around for some ballast, 'cause the gravity felt a little weak, and so I went into the kitchen…
… and that’s why Weebles are so fond of brownies.
False. Imagine a ball of iron the size of Jupiter; the gravity is much more strong than on Earth, but the atmospheric pressure is much less (there is none).
Not if there is NO atmosphere.
I don’t feel so good.
sorry whats a weeble?
