Seems to be a real big supers crowd here, but I highly recommend the **Concrete ** mini out now. It’s a nice, deep-thinking lyrical meditation that you don’t really see much of anymore.
As for Shanna, I was excited, but I’ll wait for the [uncensored] trade.
Two mini-stories this time, but still another enjoyable read. I was slightly miffed by the cover, though, since it looks like Tomoe’s left ear wasn’t properly connected to her head.
Oh my god. There’s a Shanna the She Devil book out and I missed it?
How could this happen? I didn’t see this at the comic shop last Thursday.
Does she get tied up in issue number one? I mean, it ain’t Doom Patrol if Cliff doesn’t get torn to pieces periodically, and it ain’t a real jungle girl comic if the girl don’t get tied up.
Is there an evil Panther Queen who ties up the Jungle Girl? Cuz I’ve always thought an Evil Panther Queen should tie up the Jungle Girl. Mrs. Six and I have tested this hypothetical scenario, and it makes for quite a compelling story.
Kaitlyn, the Shanna book is drawn by Frank Cho. Therefore, its selling point is that her breasts are bigger than her head. If you’re into that, buy. If not, don’t.
At the risk of spoiling it for you, she doesn’t get tied up in issue #1, nor has an Evil Panther Queen shown up. She is nude and unconscious for much of the book. Also, she depictd a bit more amazon-esque here than in her previous appearances.
For those keeping score, I think she was tied up in issues #1 and #2 of her '70s comic book series which lasted five issues. (Uh, how did I know that?)
Keep in mind that I think Princess Power roaming around naked for two full issues of Supreme Power was the high point of that series, and who sincerely believes that Danger Girl is high art.
Breasts bigger than her head. Check.
Naked. Check
Unconscious–not tied up, but a close substitute. Check.
Drawn by Frank Cho, who draws Brandy in Liberty Meadows. Check.
It was a “must buy” for me as well! I can’t wait for the next issue!
By the way-- in Shanna’s original series in the early 1970s, she got knocked out and tied up in her very first issue! Definitely a plus for a KO-fanatic like me!
