I’ve lost a massive amount of weight (135 lbs to be exact) and yes I am very proud of myself. Life is much better and a whole lot easier. I separate my weight loss in two categories non-scale victories and weight victory. The second one pretty much speaks for itself. But the first category is the important one, the one that keeps me driven they are big and they are small, but all are important. Some of those victories are:
shopping anywhere, not limited to plus size anymore (yes that is a massive one),
sitting on the bus and taking only one space,
not having to lift my thigh when I fasten my seatbelt, and not having to ask for an extension on a plane, etc…
Anyways, you get the idea.
But, there is a downside to losing this much weight, it doesn’t outweigh the loss but damn it’s bad… lose skin, yes lose skin is horrifying. Fully dressed, I look good, even though I say so myself.
I have managed to stay out of swim suit situations most of the summer, but I have this trip coming up this fall and I need wear a bathing suit. I am freaking out, my thighs will be visible. Honestly, I did not know skin could fold that way. I have now started looking at men’s swim trunks, crossing my fingers I find something. Because I really do not want to wear a burkini!
Search on bathing suits and the word “modest”. You can also add “vintage” if a zippy 1950’s look might appeal to you. There are whole cottage industry sewing creative modest clothing on the web.
The down side is that they are mostly made to order and can take weeks to arrive, so you’d need to get it ordered soon.
Swim skirts are great, as are women’s swim shorts. There are plenty of cute options now that it’s easy to buy the two pieces separately. If you still want a one-piece, you can go for a swim dress.
I also don’t want to show my thighs, and I just purchased two new swim skirts for this summer.
Check out these swim shorts and leggings. You could wear with a one piece suit or with a tankini or bikini top and will look great! Congratulations on your weight loss success, that is so impressive!
