Weight Watchers questions (UK)

Time to get off my bum and get going with a life changing plan.

I joined WW back in high school in the US (15 odd years ago) and it worked quite well for me. Unfortunately, the weight came back - and then some. I’ve managed to go from 23 1/2 stone down to my current weight of about 18 1/2 stone all on my own, but now I need a bit more help.

There have been coupons in the local paper to join for free (no membership fees, etc). However, there hasn’t been one for a while. With finances being tight, a coupon or reduced fees would be a big help.

I would really like to join WW soon, but do not know the costs here in the UK. Does anyone have any idea on costs, or if I mention having seen a coupon they’ll let me in at a reduced cost?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Until someone comes along with a personal opinion, you could check Weight Watchers’ own UK site.

I don’t know if you realised, but the BBC have been running a comparative test of four weight control methods, one of which I believe is WW. More about the study can be found here.

A recent study found that Weight Watchers doesn’t work very well-

…people who followed the program for two years lost an average of only six pounds, researchers said Tuesday.

After checking out the website I noticed the prices were nowhere to be found.

When I registered with the WW UK site I went looking in there. Decided to go into the chat and ask.

For anyone interested, weekly meetings in the UK are 4.75 pounds. For those who do not have a free registration coupon there are often extras brought in by others.

Hope this info is helpful for others.

Have a great weekend
