I’m the only son of an only son of an only son of an only son.
Not us, but my cousins.
5 boys/1 girl.
They have gone on to spawn
1st boy - 3 girls /1 boy
2boy - 3 boys
Only Girl - 2 boys/1 girl.
3rd boy- three boys.
4th boy - 7 boys. (yes seven.)
5th boy: 2 boys/2 girls.
18 boys vs. 7 girls.
In my generation there are only 4 girls for 26 total grandkids. (two of us are adopted.)
My paternal grandfather came from a family of 5 sons, no daughters.
He had 10 sons and 2 daughters (one of the sons is my father).
My father had two sons, no daughers.
I had two sons, no daughters.
One of my sons just had our first grandchild ---- a boy
Out of the 30 first cousins on my father’s side, there are 28 males and 2 females.
In the four generations mentioned above, there are 45 males and 4 females in direct descent from my greatgreat grandfather. (I don’t know about his brothers and sisters)
Seems that I remember reading somewhere that there are some families that have a great proponderance of males…and it is genetically determined. Anyone have any actual information?
I want a female grandchild!
I can’t tell if this counts, but my grandparents had three daughters. One of them (my mother) went on to have three sons.
