I was wondering about some of the crazier ideas for fast food…and whether these places are still around. Take a chain that I remember from LA (1980’s)-it was called “Pup and Taco”-they served terrible hot dogs with equally lousy tacos. They had an odd jingle…it went like “Pun and taco, pup and taco, 29 cents, drive through!” Are these people still in business?
I also remember a truly awful fast food seafood chain (“Cap’n Macs”-everything was fried-it asted mostly of grease.
Any other regiponal chains like these?
The last Lums Restaurant (hot dogs steamed in beer) closed down in June.
That was the place that introduced me to Watney’s Red Barrel.
