Weird spots you have found your cat snoozing

One of ours likes to sleep on paper. If you leave a piece of paper anywhere she can get to, she will sleep on it.

The other day we had a paper grocery bag with a plastic grocery bag inside it we were using put bottles in for recycling. She knocked the bag on its side, pulled out the few bottles that were in there, clawed the plastic grocery bag out, then settled down in the paper bag for a nap.

Here’s how I found him IN THE DRAWER

After opening the DRAWER

I couldn’t find the two kitties in the same bed, but here is
ART IN A HAMPER

I once rented a house with hideous cheap blue shag carpeting. A week after we’d moved in, it starting shedding in just one spot. After a month or so, there was a perfect circle that went down to the linoleum.

Our guess was that a previous tenant had put a potted plant there and had been sloppy about watering it. Or they hadn’t known that indoor plants need something on the bottom to catch the extra water. The rug and the padding had rotted away, leaving, as mentioned, a circle of linoleum in the middle of the rug.

Our cat loved to lay there, loafing herself into the circle. When she was laying there, the rug looked whole. The cute thing was how pleased she looked with it. As if we had made it just for her.

On top of the old CRT monitor – not so unusual, except that Sally always preferred to sleep on her back. Apparently this was especially blissful.

Oh, and Fred likes to sleep in the open-top laundry hamper.

Inside suitcases…packing for a trip is a constant battle.

Inside a bag of potato chips…the kittens loved chips, and you know how kittens can play until they simply fall over…one of our litter fell asleep as soon as he crawled in the bag…my then-husband was laying on the floor watching TV…when he reached in the bag again for a chip, he was very surprised.

Eeee!

I forgot to mention my husband. Apparently he is very restful to cats. When he sits in his recliner, usually at least one cat will show up to sleep on him. Frequently he has all three. The youngest cat, which is definitely Bill’s cat, used to curl up under Bill’s chin to take a nap. This kitten would also bug me to hold him while he napped.

My husband and I sleep in different rooms, as I am difficult to sleep with. The cats agree with this, and only occasionally sleep with me. Instead, they usually sleep with Bill, one on each side of him and one at the foot of the bed.

I’ve noticed that my kitties like to sleep on anything that’s on top of something else, or that’s a bit different from its surroundings. Paper on the floor (or anywhere else) is one example, but if there’s anything on my bed (my neoprene laptop case, my jacket) there’s a good chance that any drowsy kitties will be drawn towards it.

Oh, and one of them has a definite fondness for denim.

On the ping-pong table. While a game is in progress.

The house I grew up in did not have air conditioning, so our cats loved to nap in the nice cold porcelain bath tub. My current kitty loves to snuggle in our son’s bassinette, especially when he’s in there. It’s super-cute, but I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a picture. Other than that, she sleeps in normal kitty places.

I’m sorry, but that just strains too much at the strings of credulity. I don’t believe you. If you’d said “asleep in the box the cat bed came in” I would have believed you, but no, no cat has ever actually set foot in a cat bed.

Cat-in-cat-bed is like the Lochness Monster. Some people believe they’ve glimpsed such a thing, but they are mistaken.

To the OP: I have found Squiggy sleeping in a roasting pan. It was a perfect fit. He’s lucky I’m a vegetarian.

Behold, Nessie…er…Meep. (And no, we didn’t put her there.)

Speaking of paper on the floor, if a sheet of paper falls on the floor, one or another cat will immediately try to either lie on it (because one sheet of paper is so very much more cushiony than the floor) or hide behind it to ambush someone (again, because one sheet of paper provides so much cover).

My daughter’s cat will attach himself to anyone wearing denim. He gets disgusted when my daughter takes off her jeans and puts on her nightie.

Bah! Pure Photoshop fabrication! I can see the pixels, it’s all a hoax. A HOAX, I say!

But :: squeeeeaaaaal:: big kitty ears!

Nessie is adorable!

(is she a mutt or what? I love gray kitties!)

Oh…and…SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

or this.

She was a purebred Russian Blue. Sadly, we only got 5 years with her before we lost her to lymphoma, but she was a sweetheart for all 5.

 Just in the interest of full disclosure, that was one of very few times we ever actually caught her in the basket. Usually she slept on the bed, in the towel closet (just like our current Russian, Gracie (aka Boo), in my laundry, or pretty much whatever non-cat-bed-type spot she fancied at the time.
