Weird thoughts that wake me at 2 a m

I find the dumbest/strangest ideas keeping me half-awake at night.I don’t sleep well anyway, and then I have to deal with ideas or lines of writing that just won’t go away. The latest:

I want to start a restaurant called Moms (Keep your elbows off the table). The Friday night special will be whatever meat is left over, mixed with cream of mushroom soup, topped with tater tots, and baked. And when you ask for another Coke, the waitress will say, “I don’t think so. One is enough. You can have water for the rest of the evening. We don’t want you up all night.”

Also, this line about resident dopers Esprix (did I spell that right?) and Fenris. I don’t know why them, except I like their names and their posts.
Esprix and Fenris are the dinner rolls on the SDMB table. No matter how much other stuff is on the table, you always want to see dinner rolls too.

Or maybe I just want to see them all covered in warm butter… (I know, I know, but a girl can look.)

You have an interesting mind…I think you should definitely try writing up some of this weird stuff. Maybe you could even work a standup routine. I wish my middle-of-the-night stuff was this interesting, but it’s usually what I’ve got to do at work tomorrow, or what bills are due…:frowning:

I’m both disturbed and flattered…

Esprix

Cool, but I prefer when my weird thoughts wake me just before the alarm goes off. It’s much more efficient that way.

And I would be very disturbed to think of Fenris or Esprix in my sleep. Although they do seem nice enough folks, just not my way. Maybe if they were together and not with me. [sub]hehehe[/sub]

Reminds me alot of my strange thoughts I have when I wake up in the middle of the night and look at my clock. I’m never quite sure if its a countdown timer, or a time recorder to how long i’ve been asleep. I sit there for the longest time questioning that. Then I wonder which way you read it. I recall once when I woke up with my alarm going off (it was suposed to), I got up, pressed the snooze thinking to myself “nahhh, that alarm diddnt sound cool enough. I’ll wait and see if its better when it goes off again.” and I fall back to sleep.

now if that isnt mundane I dont know what is!

I remember trying to get to sleep at 5 AM and thinking about what the hottest girl I know said about yawning - that it’s the body’s way of trying to stay awake, so I stifled my yawns. Then I started to think if people would notice if I never yawned. Then I realized I don’t really know what my friends look like when they yawn, or cough, or sneeze…
