Weird Work Things

I work in auto insurance, and part of my job is to ask customers questions about their policy, any accidents they have been in, etc. It is a pretty big part of my job, this question asking process. Yesterday when I was speaking with a woman about ways to bring down the cost of her premium my computer pops up with an error message. “ERROR: Stop asking questions and continue with the activity” WTF? I ignore it and finish what I was doing, hang up the phone and ask my boss what might cause such an error message. He has no clue but says if it happens again to print screen and send it to him.

About an hour later I am talking to someone else about their policy and as I scroll the mouse over some of the links to other screens the message shows up again. Not as an error this time, but in one of the yellow boxes that pop up occasionally when you scroll over some links and images. I scroll back over it, print screen and email it to my boss. He comes by and tells me he has no idea what the hell is going on but he will check into it. I still haven’t heard anything about what could be causing this, but my boss has an inkling that it is someone in our tech department playing a joke. He can’t figure out what else this could possibly be, so I called the help desk to find out why such an odd warning appears to have ingrained itself into my computer system. I am hoping they have this fixed before I come back to work.

So what weird things are going on in your office?
