Weirdest Collections

What are the weird things that you collect? Or what are some of the weirdest collections you’ve heard of other people collecting?

Personally, I collect random crap. My biggest collections are my PEZ (97 dispensers last I counted), and those celebrity milk ads. I have a huge binder full of them…I’ve yet to count. I also collect feather boas, picture frames (only cute ones), and windchimes. The windchimes have dominated my celing. Needless to say, my bedroom has personality.

Well, I have a collection of pictures of every professional baseball player whose last name began with “X”…does that qualify?

When I was ten years old I collected slugs. Yep. I had 'em in a donut box in the garage.

Also, I and some other kids in my neighborhood collected caterpillars. I remember pedalling over to my friend’s house with a couple because I owed her some of the big fuzzy yellow ones…

I have a collection of even prime numbers.

But seriously folks, I have a collection of guitars. Most of which cost less than $10. Some, much more. None of them are really worth crap.

I also have 2 Triumph TR-7s. Does this count as a collection yet? The number of Triumph parts around the garage certainly does!

Mrs. Spritle collects all the dumb things I do and say. She’s gonna have to start renting storage space!

I collect bottlecaps as well as beer and wine bottles.

I had a friend who collected cereal boxes. Especially any special, promotional boxes. If they made one with Michael Keaton as Batman on it, he had it. That kind of thing. I used to make fun of him.

You know those litle sticky tags that are on fruits and vegetables? I have about 20 of them stuck to the side of my computer here at work. I used to have more, but they gave me a new computer earlier this year.

I also have a bunch of those little squeezy foam things, one looks like a little computer, one’s an airplane, one’s a Dilbert about 7" tall. I had a Pointy-haired boss one, but his head started to come off from being batted across the room.

Hey, it gets boring here at work some times.

I have a huge collection of Weight Watchers cookbooks, including some in foreign languages. And Andrew Lloyd Webber cast CDS, including some in foreign languages.

I’ve also collected Legion of Super-Hero comic books for the past 38 years.

19th century marriage manuals. (They’re a hoot)
Rubik’s Cube type puzzles
Special subject dictionaries
Original art done by friends and family members

I collect ashtrays from around the world. Not the “I love Ireland” variety, but ones made by local artisans. I think they’re supremely cool.

My sister used to collect the little round circles of paper produced by three-hole-punches. I think we all know by now that they’re called CHAD. She had a huge jar of them, and called them the “Little Guys.”

When I was 8 or so I had a collection of cicada shells. They aren’t very durable, though, so they’re all dust now.

a few years ago, gatorade changed the inside of their caps, but BEFORE they changed, the cap (orange) had this flexy blye disc inside that you could pry out - kind of like a giant blue contact lense, or really small condoms. i probably had a couple hundred of those things, they were really fun to play with, and gatorade had to go start making caps where the little blue things were glued in…

Well, that’s not weird! That’s the sign of a discriminating comic book consumer!

I knew there must be some other die-hard Legion fans on this message board. So, what do you think of “Legion: Lost” so far?
