Something tells me that intentionally, repeatedly mistyping another poster’s name, obstinately railing against the system without rhyme or reason, and using two underscores in a username all violate the “Don’t be a jerk”.

I was in the same boat at one time as Gazoo, but I just emailed Tuba a few months ago, telling her I forgot my password–she reset it for me, I signed up, paid and here I am. So I don’t think it was a very malicious banning–just procedure.

I understand the rule, I understand they must be enforced. Still, these people (GazooII and cynical313) are not here to cause any kind of trouble. They are out and upfront about their situations and want to get them straightened out. Is the 4 cents of a day’s subscription so important that they can’t be allowed the grace to post while their situations are resolved?
If you had said “second account” instead of “sock” I wouldn’t have minded. As much. There’s a certain, how you say, “willy-nilliness” to the way the rules are enforced around here, and don’t let any mod tell you otherwise.

While I agree that they’re not here to cause any trouble and appreciate that they were immediately upfront about their situation rather than simply trying to slip under the radar, I don’t think having to wait to post until everything is straightened out is such an onerous burden.
