Not at all, my man, take a chair.
Carney, Tatum, Garfunkel, or Linkletter?

dammit, now how do I choose between Mpsims and this?
I take my Linkletter in “Jack” form, thanks.
Oh yeah I can see it now, Ukulele Ike’s first closed thread, cause it was getting too heated, the fur was flying, names were being bastardized–“Who was better Heinlein or Tolkien”.
Or worse…
Hey Euty, glad to see you were released from bondage in the velveteen rub room. Maybe you won’t find yourself handcuffed to the furniture here!
Great I idea for a forum. I’m settling into a chair with my book, a cinnamon raisin scone and reading until the poetry reading starts.
Hey, let’s all try to keep this forum neat and tidy, m’kay?. If everyone picks up after themselves, we can keep this place looking brand-new for a long time. Clean up your crumbs and don’t spill any drinks on the brand new carpeting/ tile/ marble/ varnished hardwood floors. (If you do, mop it up quickly: don’t wait for someone else to pick up your mess. I, for one, would prefer not to step on sunflower seed shells and soggy biscotti chunks.)
I like the smell of ‘new forum aroma’, so let’s use those napkins and drink coasters (white rings are really difficult to get out of the furniture, trust me).
Tolkien, of course. He managed to create new languages, each with its own grammar and syntax. His stories do not age, whereas most of Heinlein’s stories have dated badly. Also, many of Heinlein’s stories were just thinly-disguised political tracts.
Nice forum.
I agree with the “nice forum” statement. I was pleasantly surprised with the new addition when I logged on this morning.
As to the rest of your post, <pulling pin> Tolkien had to invent new languages because when read in English his works were so tragically boring you were rooting for the villains to kill <lobbing grenade> everyone off so you could put the bloody book down and get to reading something interesting, like 90% of Heinlein. <Calmly rounding corner and waiting for the KABOOM>

I am proud to have created the first official hijack of this new forum. Thank you and please leave a tip on the way out.

“This forum is for discussion about the Arts”
By discussion do you mean we don’t have to ask a question?

Here’s my two cents worth. Don’t spend it all in one place.

Is it “Fidelio” or “Fidellio”? I always get that mixed up. And what’s this blank spot next to “Password of the house”?
Gee thanks, guys. You realize it only means more work for me…
