I realise this is all in jest, or at least it’s supposed to be.
But Zenster, don’t you think two threads in response to Mr Cynicals one challenge is a little much? I can see why he doesn’t feel inclined to take up this one as well.
And yeah, I know, the International Rulebook of “Get yer custom <insert item here> by <insert poster> here!”-threads isn’t exactly carved in stone. But the general gist of it, at least the way I always understood it, is to challenge a poster, and maybe expect a challenge back. Not two, and generally clearly defined. This just seems, well, different. Hence the lack of responses, I guess.
You can do whatever you want with this thread, of course. It’s just that the atmosphere has up to now been a tad too catty for a friendly family forum like MPSIMS, ya know?
Coldy, I appreciate your concern but this is the only thread that really deals with the issue. The “Spanking” thread was just a place for suggestions. Everyone felt free to forge ahead and turn it into a spanking topic thread, so I followed Narile’s advice and proceeded with this one. (Please don’t blame Narile.) If you look at the “Spanking” thread, you’ll find next to zero serious suggestions. DRY managed to hijack the matchmaking suggestion and Shanya’s appears only at the very end.
It can’t be helped if Mr. Cynical seems to lack a sense of fair play or turnabout. Fairy Princess Kitty and tisiphone instantly caught on to my intentions, I’m not sure why others had such a hard time discerning my gist. All that I know is that, in the spirit of things, I’m following through with the recipe naming thread.
Besides, Mr. Cynical personally challenged me to do my worst. By all accounts, it seems as though I have done my worst (in every sense of the word). I think the real problem is that everybody loves to chime in, but when the gauntlet hits the floor, no one really wants to put in any real effort. Shayna’s suggestion of Haiku is so cliché that I tried to figure out some innovative new way to take Mr. Cynical to task. I guess innovation isn’t always welcome.
Please remember Coldy, if I was trying to lash out, I would merely have started a Pit thread and been done with it. I would certainly hope that most people around here know well enough that I always approach things with a sense of humor. I can’t help it if others do not.
Okay, I’ll be brief, since there’s been a lack of terseness over the last few posts.
I could make a big deal about how this thread really kind of sucks. I won’t. The thread speaks for itself. When two people out of over 10,000 “get it”, that should be a fair indicator that the mark has been missed.
Someone, any moderator, any administrator. Close this mess before Cecil sees it. Can’t have him killing himself over losing the fight.
