It’s the rewind button. If you push it, we go back to 2001, and GWB gets inaugurated again.
It does nothing, no one knows why it’s there, no President has had the guts to have it removed, and your tax dollars paid for it.
It’s a government button.
I pressed that button back in 1972 and heard a recorded Welcome to The White House message from President Nixon. On a visit to the White House when Clinton was president I asked the Secret Service agent who was the private the tour why the speakers no longer worked. He told me the system broke many years before and simply were never repaired. I hope this helps.
Well thank God! I’ve been constantly reloading this thread for over two years hoping for an answer. Now I can finally get some sleep.
Actually, it says “PU(BUTTON)ON”, and you’re just assuming it says “PUSH BUTTON”.
I say it says “PUT HAT ON”, and you were supposed to put your hat on before pushing the button. Once properly attired like a gentleman, you would have been welcomed into the White House as a distinguished guest. Sadly, nobody follows the traditional graces any more.
Oh, dear God, you went ahead and you pushed the button, didn’t you? You just had to do it and you *did *it, didn’t you?
You *pushed *the *button * :smack: It’s all over now, it’s all over …
And two weeks later, you get a message from Poroshenko saying, “Cut it out!”
Something inexplicable happened to the tapes right towards the end of that administration.
It’s called the SDMB-Zombie-Thread-Reactivate-Button.
Mmmmmm . . . Bacon of State.
Tripler
I hear there’s a Cabinet full of Pork.
I think it makes the power go out in the Vice President’s office. Either that or it makes someone’s garage door open.
So you’ve only been reloading the thread?.. Luxury!
I’ve been driving to Washington every day to push the button.
Now I can finally get some sleep! ![]()
