Fruit of Islam is the name of the security arm of NOI. They’re supposed to be the best of the best.
Hopefully sooner rather than later. Violent criminals who suffer injury when their innocent victims protect themselves get no sympathy from me.
You have to understand of course that the Nation of Islam isn’t quite as solid as it may appear. There have traditionally been extremist splinter groups around for awhile. Like the group that committed the Zebra murders in San Francisco.
So the “Fruit” of Islam makes "mince-"meat of their enemies?

And don’t forget Farrikhan’s defending anti-semetic comments made by one member of NOI. Supposedly, Farrikhan’s departed the “reality bus” some time ago and has been claiming that he’s been in contact with aliens.

No, NOI philosophy has always relied on aliens.
Nation of Islam is actually rejected by traditional muslims because they believe certain things that are just completel incompatible with traditional islam.
For example they believe that each of the successive leaders of NOI have been “physical embodiments of God” (Islam doesn’t believe in the physical embodiment of God.) The NOI also teaches that something like 24 black scientists living in space constitute “god.” And they also believe that the first two leaders of the NOI (Wallace Mohammad and Elijah Mohammad) are currently residing in a flying saucer which took them away from the earth at their respective times of disappearance.
And while NOI may play its cards as a pacifist organization, it’s an organization that has an on again off again belief that “whites are devils,” that “blacks are the superior race”, and that Jews are “leeches that contribute to various world ills.”
Also I believe the Southern Poverty Law Center has labelled NOI as a “hate group.”
This is the late Yusuf Bey’s group ( probably - Farrakhan at least has denied they are his people ), who have always been autonomous and are lately embroiled in an internal conflict over the YB’s little empire ( which included “Your Black Muslim Bakery” ), a conflict that may have already claimed three lives ( hard to parce all of those precisely - one which claimed his son may have just been a coincidental carjacking for instance ).
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is part of the internal power struggle - an attempt to gain cred as “holier than thou” perhaps.

In case anyone is interested, one of the vandalized stores had a “suspicious” fire last night, so it appears this isn’t over just yet. Link.
Supposing a store owner decided to sell liquor to every patron except the black ones. I’m sure that the NOI wouldn’t be terribly happy about that sort of discrimination.
Ok this is starting to take on the elements of a Scooby Doo mystery. It seems one of the owners of the liqour store that was torched was also kidnapped!

Too bad they swiped the store owner’s shotgun. It would have been nice if he had capped a few of them.
Latest update is the store that was burned has been looted. Not that there wasn’t much left that wasn’t burned or soaked, but nonetheless the burned-out store was broken into last night.
Two men have been arrested for the initial vandalism, and there are four arrest warrants for others. There haven’t been any arrests or warrants yet specific to arson or kidnapping.
Yeah, thats just what Oakland needs. More people capping each other.
Yeah, because the tux guys running off scott free to cause more crime will certainly make things safer!
