C’mon - if anyone had come up with any viable evidence of WMDs being snuck out of the country before or during the invasion, we’d have been debating it endlessly, long before now. Just like we did with every other goddamned bogus “See, Saddam had WMDs after all!” claim that someone boosted here and everyone else shot down.
Which was being done for a decade or more before the 2003 invasion, and we could have done it until Saddam died, for a fraction of the cost of the war.
It was published, like, on Debkafiles when first they couldn’t find the WMD’s.
Ultimately, the Iraq survey group didn’t buy the story: Report Finds No Evidence Syria Hid Iraqi Arms
“They” being the UN inspectors, who then monitored the destruction of said missiles. As I’ve said before, I hope someone caught it on video, because no rogue state will ever be this cooperative again.
Sorry, not buying it. WMD do not exist in a vacuum - even if the weapons themselves were smuggled out (for what reason ?), there’ll be plenty of evidence for them having been there. No such evidence has been forthcoming. But feel free to prove me wrong with some sort of reliable cite on the Syria hypothesis.
Yea, quite - Israeli Intelligence - now that’s a fine, upstanding impartial source. No reason why they’d want to point their big brother at another of their enemies. No siree. No reason at all.
