I still had no idea Sulu was gay.
He isn’t. George Takei is. ![]()
And Jack Burns (Deputy Warren Ferguson).
Though that surprised “Sulu has a daughter?” line in one movie takes on deeper meaning if he was as well.
Warren Ferguson was a rumor. Any footage of him you see is video-toaster fan fiction from the '90s. There was never a deputy after Barney left. This is an order.
I liked the episode of Futurama when Fry goes back in time to meet his (Still young) grandad in the army who’s a Gomer Pyle parody. A nice bit of metahumor is when said grandpa begins asking questions like, “Do you ever wonder if the reason we like girls is because we’re *supposed *to?”
Cameo idea: NBC unleashed a genuinely awful new Ryan Murphy sitcom on the world this year called The New Normal that features Ellen Barkin as a cardboard homophobe grandmother of a main character. She hates all queers in part because her husband was gay.
One of the few things that I think might give it at least a memorable moment: her beloved father, the man against whom she measures all others, visits, and is played by Jim Nabors.
Ditto!!
Not a rumor. It was a vicious lie!
