Well, I got wet.

The forecast on the morning news was for isolated drizzle. I thought they said it would be clearing later in the day. Since it was sunny on the West Side when I left for work, I elected to ride the motorcycle.

I heard that there were some sprinkles in Marina del Rey, so I left the office about 15 minutes early. It was dry until I got to around Carson (or a bit before), then it started raining. Not just sprinkles, but actual rain. The visor on my Arai helmet does not seem to shed water like the one on my Shoei, so I had a small visibility problem. Of course, people in the carpool lane slowed down; I had to stay in the wet for longer than I would have otherwise.

After clearing the cell my corduroy pants were wet. At 75 mph, they were a bit chilly.

Oh, well. I’ve been wet before. Maybe I’ll stay dry tomorrow.

Wonder how many people are going to take a look at this just for its title…

At least one!

If a mod wants to put “(motorcycle)” in the title, I’d have no objections.

Well you are the one who asked for “weather”, are you not?

I’m having just a [sub][sup]weeeeee bit[/sup][/sub] of a hard time feeling sorry for you, hon.

All part of the experience, isn’t it? Actually, that’s one reason bikes don’t appeal to me. I HATE having to wear wet clothes.

Oh, Johnny - you need to do a daily motorcycle commute in sunny Portland, Oregon - where ‘wet’ is a way of life!

Be thankful it wasn’t 40 degrees. Wet is bad, but freezing and wet is really a pain in the arse.

Shayna: Yup. That’s true. And I still want more lively weather! More rain! More rain!

Davebear: Yup. I would choose not to ride the bike in the rain, but it’s not a big deal if I get caught out in it. (Okay, I have chosen to ride in the rain. A couple of times I’ve actually had to wring out my leather jacket. But experiencing things is part of life, eh?)

It’s supposed to be dry-ish today. Tomorrow I’ll probably drive the four-wheeler. If I get wet coming home, as I did last night, then it’s no problem to change clothes. But I wouldn’t like to have to be wet at the office. If I lived in sunny Portland as TVGuy suggests, I’d probably get a rain suit.

Really the biggest problem with riding in the rain is it gets the bike filthy!
