In reference to this thread.

How’s about I reword it as a Worldwide SDMB Get-together and Party Post?

I mean, instead of encouraging the consumption of alcohol, how about something like take part in a worldwide party? Whether alone or in a group, let’s pick a certain day when as many people as possible get down and share their revelry with the rest of us.

Sort of a Pan Galactic Dopefest…where we pick one day to display ourselves to each other in all of our unrestrained (even if alternately-encapabled) glory?

I don’t recall a day when we all just celebrated being Dopers. I’m saying, let’s just us have a bunch of fun being us!

Faces may get slapped. Reputations may get ruined. Hampsters may suffer coronaries.

Would that pass scrutiny?

It doesn’t really sound as cool when you call it what it really is: Get Drunk Alone and Sit in Front of the Computer Day.
