So, they think someone depraved enough to put a baby in a dumpster will reconsider because of a sticker? Yeah, that’ll happen.
Ouch. I wish I’d thought of that.
Seriously, it’s safe to assume that anyone who is planning to abandon their baby will be deeply depressed, and as a result they will not be considering all possible options. Even if no babies would be placed in dumpsters if the stickers weren’t on the sides, it does seem like an effective way to advertise a better option than abandoning the kid somewhere on the street.
If I were in Santa Cruz, specifically, and I saw “No Baby Dumping” on the side of a dumpster, I would take it for college student “wit”. (No offense to any UCSC students or alumni.)
