Well, it's June; what's bugging you?

A person with an opinion on a message board that solicits them. Bugger off.

In a situation like that I would just pick up the tab for whatever restaurant I prefer. Win-win.

Bravo, Chefguy! I’m going to use this the next time someone wants to be offended for no reason.

What’s bugging me? The farking road construction in this town, that’s what. There are six different southbound roads I could take to get home from work. Five of them are either closed completely or have severe lane restrictions. The major southbound artery has been reduced from five lanes to two. And the one road that is open I can’t get to because the road that I would take to get there is closed.

My normally 15 minute commute has stretched to at least 45 minutes. (I know, I know, some of you drive longer than that all the time.) Longer if there’s an accident or if some fool decides to try to cram into an intersection and blocks the road to all traffic. One day it took me over an hour to get home because a semi had the road blocked. I found one route around the major artery being snockered up and then that road was closed a few days later.

It’s pretty bad when I actually dread leaving work because of the drive home. Leaving early or staying late don’t help. Unless you’re driving through in the middle of the night you’re going to get stuck in traffic somewhere. And no, I can’t work from home. But that’s a rant for another thread.

Okay. Who’s the brain-dead idiot who decided that when you have to enter your birth date in an online form, the current date is the one already in the window and you have to scroll through year numbers in reverse order? I guarantee you there are no one-day-old folks that computer savvy.

Dr. Girlfriend I don’t think it really matters how long someone’s daily commute is, adding 45 minutes to an hour of heavy traffic each way would tick off a saint. In your case, its tripling your commute time which is even worse.

My very small first world problem is that I’m going to be in training for the last 2 weeks in June. In a glass high-rise office building in downtown Phoenix. I am so not happy about this.

(Yeah, I know, I am the one who scheduled this and its important training that I have to have to keep certain licenses current, but they hold this training all over the country, why anyone would think that downtown Phoenix in the middle of summer might be a good idea is beyond me.)

Would Nome in February be better?

The heat wave we’re having right now ! It’s going to 96 on Monday ! This is about average temperature , it was below average last week ! New England weather is crazy !

Grrr! They are supposed to start reshingling my roof today so, of course, it’s raining.

Yes, I know I shouldn’t bitch about the rain since we are in a drought and all, but still.

According to my phone it’s 94 right now. It’s been creeping up steadily all day. I don’t think it’s supposed to fall very far after sunset, which means I’ll have to turn on the upstairs A/C.

When I was a kid, we used to dream of having upstairs A/C…

Seriously, it’s over 90 now, won’t drop much tonight. And this is Wisconsin, where we’re used to wearing long undies to watch Packer games. And that’s not at Lambeau, that’s in the living room!

I’ll spend another night on the floor of the (dusty unfinished) basement, because it’s the only spot cool enough to sleep.

So is this a good time to discuss the evils of air conditioning and how you should ween yourself off of it? :stuck_out_tongue:

With today’s heat, my heart wouldn’t be in it. It’d be a hollow ween.

I’ve been taking my life in my own hands by having a fan blowing across me at night.

We have central air in the house. What is this heat wave you speak of?

Give me a while, I need to think about this!

And now, just to add to my first world problems…are there any 'zoners here? Now that minimum wage is at 10 an hour, and I’ll be staying in a chain motel…do I still tip the maid?

Why oh why did I put this off until the last minute? I had very good reasons at the time, but this really bites and its all my fault, so this is the only place to come and whine. :frowning:

Which is probably a very bad idea, cause folks here are expected to act like adults.

FML

That would be why I own this shirt.

Thank you for identifying my soon-to-be 22 year olds birthday present.

I am having a panic attack and I cannot focus enough to write properly but I feel very very alone right now and everything feels very wrong and I really really really wish I would die. That is all.

Do internet hugs help or are you so freaked out that touch would freak you out even more? If the first, take as needed and sorry I can’t offer one for real: {{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}
