Can we make this the Official Unofficial E-5 Promotion thread? I just got promoted recently with a Date of Rank of Sep 1 2005. Funny thing is I have enough points to make SSG, I just need to wait to get enough time in rank as E-5 before I can go to that board too…

BTW…the Army is the same way. I had to way almost two weeks before I pinned 1LT. My battalion XO told me if I showed up with 1LT on my collar she’d rip it off if I did it before the pinning ceremony. Luckily I was able to pin Captain on my date of rank.
That would be ‘wait’ not ‘way.’ That’ll teach me not to preview.
