Well, my phone is dead. Anyone have suggestions for a new one?

I have been using some variation of the Palm Treo for a few years now. First I had a 650 and I loved it. Then I “upgraded” to the 700 about 6 months ago when the 650 was involved in an unfortunate table flood and it has been nothing but trouble ever since. The damn thing never worked all that well, and now it doesn’t work at all. When I picked it up this morning it was in a constant feedback loop trying to sync to a computer that it was not attached to and now all it will show me are color bars.

So, I am in the market for a new phone and only have a few hours in which to shop for it. You all are typically a good bit better than consumer reports when it comes to this sort of thing. I work freelance in the theatre and my phone is my only contact for work, so time is of the essence, I need a new phone by the end of tomorrow. I haven’t really kept up with the current smartphone market, but I need my phone to do a lot of the basic PDA stuff the Treo did as well as internet surfing and email and text features. I actually use the phone bit of my phone less often than that other stuff.

Ok, so the catch is, I need to stay with Verizon. I have heard a lot about the Storm, good and bad, but other than that I don’t really know what is on the market right now. I am open to anything really since I assume more reasonably smart phones have these days have the capabilities of my Treo. I do prefer full keyboards.

I am going to go to a Verizon store after work tonight, and I mostly want to have an idea of what I am going to want to play around with. What say ye dopers?
