it will."
Well, it’s a bit excessive, IMHO.
Seriously… $11M US for a phone to the head? There’s an abuse of justice if I ever saw one.
£6million? Ooh ooh! Attack me next, attack me!!
Guess it wasnt cheap rate 6p per hour to Australia then? :smack:
Crowe’s lawyer contacted Live with Regis and Kelly this morning to say that there is no settlement - the whole thing was a rumour.
Yeah, getting a rep for attacking people just ruined Sean Penn’s career. :dubious:
Ghanima’s plan for financial success:
- Bait Russell Crowe
- Get ass kicked
- Profit!
I’d just love to see some random bellhop or waiter or clerk have to put up with Crowe’s abuse, only to fight back in self-defense and beat the shit out of the guy. That would be the coolest thing ever, as he would look like the colossal douche he is, and lose all his “bad-boy cred” at the same time.
Well if he was charged any less it would hardly be a punishment for someone with as much money as he has.
Actually, it kinda did–for a while at least. It took years of low-profile and unsuccessful movies (and a divorce from Madonna) before he was embraced by the industry again. By then, he had mellowed, remarried, and gotten older & wiser.
But yeah, it certainly did hurt his career–not irreperably, as it happens, but it could have.
They’re settling out of court rather than go to trial - if Crowe had wanted to take his chances with that, he could have. Justice per se isn’t involved here.
I can’t imagine how many people will try to instigate shit with him now. He’s going to have be in disguise everywhere he goes now. Folks everywhere are going be like that Crocodile Hunter spoof on ‘South Park’: “There’s Russell Crowe!! I’m gonna stick me thumb in his butthole! That’ll piss 'im off!”
Of course, that plan depends on Crowe being like that Russell Crowe spoof on South Park.
I used to have a four hundred dollar Seiko watch, but it hit him square on the noggin!!
